The Silsilah Dialogue Movement, reflecting on the present situation of COVID19 with all the implications, started to share to some groups closer to the Movement the new initiative WE SERVE.
We first started to share this initiative with Emmaus Dialogue Movement, a Catholic group part of Silsilah, the Jama’a Dialogue Movement, an emerging Movement of Muslims part of Silsilah, to the Young Leaders for Dialogue and Peace, a group of Muslim and Christian young leaders of Silsilah and to the Council of the Greeks, formed by some Fraternity and Sorority leaders inside the Western Mindanao State University that Silsilah helped years ago with a manifesto for dialogue and peace for all Fraternities and Sororities. (See Oasis News of a few weeks ago “We Serve” in our website, www.silsilahdialogue.com).
Now Silsilah proposes to extend this partnership program to religious leaders, groups, government and non-government organizations and other groups in Zamboanga City, starting from the partners of the World Interfaith Harmony Week (WIHW) of Zamboanga City which is, at present, forty-eight groups formed by many private, religious and educational sectors and government institutions. (See more at www.harmonylink.info).
Silsilah is taking the lead in this new partnership program “We Serve” inspired by the positive experience of the WIHW-Zamboanga partners. We’ll soon convene via ZOOM the partners of new partner’s initiative, “We Serve” will be relaunched on May 9, 2021 with the new logo that expresses the spirit of this initiative on the occasion of the 37th Anniversary of the Silsilah Dialogue Movement.
The goal of the WE SERVE partnership is an answer to the new emerging needs of many in this new reality of COVID19 that urges us to build solidarity and help many starting from a spiritual approach and move towards all possible forms of help, without barriers of religions, cultures and social status, starting from those most in need.
We know that in this time, it is also difficult to help people in their needs and in their psychological depression and fear, very visible in many sectors of today’s society. Initiatives of solidarity in the world, in the country and also on the local level are already many . Some are well presented on media and others more silent, but also effective.
With great admiration for those who are guided by a sincere heart to serve , we propose now this new partnership initiative.
We are convinced that we find many willing to Join us in different forms as it happened when we started the WIHW partnership. Many of them have been creative even during the last WIHW of last February in the midst of the current situation, not only in Zamboanga but also in other areas of Mindanao and Manila.
