35th SILSILAH SUMMER COURSE ON MUSLIM – CHRISTIAN DIALOGUE

The course was conducted in ten lessons with relevant topics. All have been posted in YouTube with the link and the title of the lessons as you can see:

1. Love and hate in the history of religions focusing on Christianity and Islam

2. Teachings, movements and experiences of love in Christianity focusing on some Christian models of Saints and Martyrs.

3. Teachings, movements and experiences of love in Islam focusing on some Muslim models and traditions.

4. History of Christianity in the Philippines in context with groups, cultures and religions present in different areas from the beginning up to now:

5. How to present the history of the last 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines today? And what to do to overcome prejudices among religions and cultures? What are the basic reflections to be done by Christians, Muslims and Indigenous Peoples in view of this celebration?

6. Why is there today a new wave of violent extremism and terrorism on the part of those who claim to be guided by perceptions of their religion or culture?

7. Healing of Memory and Reconciliation: The Mindanao experience, the Culture of Dialogue and the vision of the Prelature of Marawi prepared by Bishop Tudtud.

8. A new vision of hope: Pope Francis and other religious Muslim leaders promoting the “Human Fraternity” and the “Culture of Dialogue”.

9. Are Christians, Muslims and Indigenous People ready to ask forgiveness for the sins/mistakes of the past committed by Christians, Muslims and Indigenous peoples in context with other groups, religions and cultures?

10. The mission of Silsilah and the example of its members, the Silsilah alumni, martyrs and the message of “Padayon” through the experience of different Muslim and Christian members and groups promoted by Silsilah from 1984 up to now.
